hearing that mccalls turned it down, due to not much money for new transfers.

25 May 2013 15:02:20
How come we still have to cut the wage bill we have cut it down massively over the last few seasons I want to know what we pay our players

2011-Henderson, Ertl etc. (dont know anymore)

2012-Evans, Williamson, Lowton, Montgomery, Quinn,
Simonsen, Taylor,

Their is a lot off the wage plus the 34k with players leaving this year like Kitson, Higginbotham, Cresswell, Robson

we have to be able to spend now

go back to May 12th folks when I told you all that McCall would be new manager and that it was nailed on cert!
Looking like I'm right eh?

Except talks have broken down. He won't join with the wage budget cut. Un
fortunately no one with ambition will

He will sign and do a good job as well

How do you know talks have broken down where did you hear that think some wednesday fan trying to be bright

Talks have not broke down at all

Talks haven't broken down they have stalled, hopefully they will be able to come to an arrangement soon. Much love. X

SensibleOwl

United are falling and the slide hasn't stopped yet, more likely to flirt with relegation than play offs next season and you won't hit the bottom until your Hierarchy realise and stop paying big wages to players that are not up to fight better to get less talented lads who give their all. NO Sheffield derby s for a long time, From a not so sensible OWL

Whats going off at lane, if southgate takes over god help us.

Need some pace when attacking I would like to see fabian brandy come in to play as the striker.

Would also like to see more of the young players starting games for me the team would look like this:

GK-George Long
RB-Tony Mcmahon
CB-Neil Collins
CB-Harry Maguire
LB-Zoumana Bakayogo
RM-Ryan Flynn
CM-Kevin Mcdonald
CM-Elliot Whitehouse
LM-Callum Mcfadzen
ST-Jamie Murphy
ST-Fabian Brandy

Think it would stand a good chance of winning the league if we had the right manager and for me that would be Stuart Mccall

And good news for mccabe if we had this team it would cost him anything to bring them in since the new players are free!

That team wouldn't stand a chance of promotion simply due to so many fringe and young players i. e. whitehouse (good player but no room for him at the moment with good partnership between doyle and mcdonald), Febian Brandy? all utd fans moan our current strikers are not good enough when they are and you want Brandy who's only scored 15 goals in his whole career. Bakayogo, really? how inconsistent were tranmere which can be partly to blame on the defence for letting goals in and you want a regular in that defence when ours is perfectly fine.

Would be a good team brandy has been given a chance at walsall and he has taken it and bakayogo is the best left back in the league and they are free!

Doyle has been shocking for us this year so I would put whitehouse in this is the time to but these players in the team when we have lost expectation

Tony Pulis anyone?

21 May 2013 20:22:38
Looks like either Robinson or MCcall. For the best job in football (slight sarcasm). So blades who do we want?

21 May 2013 11:58:24
looking like hard times ahead, with wage bill needing trimming I can't see any decent players wanting to come it will be league 2 or non league mediocre players at best, can't see a top 6 finish next season.

Dont talk foolish we will still have one of best budgets in this div

20 May 2013 18:59:05
Don't rule out aidy boothroyd taking over now Northampton didn't get promoted. Maybe he is the dark horse

20 May 2013 18:42:45
A very much realistic squad;

Long

McMahon
Maguire
Hill
LJF

McFadzean
Judge
Robson
Murphy

Miller
Clayton

20 May 2013 17:15:45
chris wilder is the main man at the minute.

20 May 2013 16:58:51
We need a manager that plys good football, has a good knowledge of up and coming players and we need to be looking to sign players in league one and two instead of getting a load of has beens in. Alan Judge, is one player that we need to be signi. g. Also we need to get all the crap off the wage bill like kitson, flynn williams hill higginbottom porter and possibly robson and doyle. Hate to say it but doyle could do with going. he's on a lot of money and does a job that could easily be done by a player on much cheaper wages.
Olly the Blade

20 May 2013 16:18:32
Morgan to be next manager And the players on high wages will go and no one will take a pay cut

Morgan will not be the next manager

20 May 2013 11:38:37
Gareth Southgate is now favourite for the job. After McCall and Robinson have rejected the offer.

20 May 2013 11:05:38
Sturrock odds slashed! what's that about?

18 May 2013 11:21:00
The sheff utd board are supposed to be intelligent folk. But why is this search for a manager taking so long. The "we need to make sure" approach is pants. I've started to lose any intrigue or excitement on this now. Other blades feel the same. I believe they are waiting for all blades to get to the point of non caring, before unveiling either the cheapest or ex Wendy option.

Probably talking about sale of training ground

Think gus poyet will want wages that we can't afford and he would want to send money on players which again we haven't got, that's why its taking so long attracting a manager because as soon as squad improvement money is mentioned the interviews stop there and then.

Yes yes yes at last we can all see how Mr McCabe and Co set out the plans for the future it will all be done on the cheap, And as for compensation been paid for a manager what a load of tosh when you have no money for team building how come we have money to pay a club compensation for a manager. This is another story to help McCabe and Co to pull the wool over the eyes of united fans just in time for the sale of season tickets to start.

17 May 2013 14:45:29
Gus poyet now one of the favourites

Ha why would he want to join utd

Give it a rest as if premier league is his destination.

Its a conveyor belt for managers they get sack, have an holiday play a few games of golf get bored take another job as manager, what's needed is a proven manager not morgan push boat out pay top bucks for a proven good manager, donny said going up was worth £6 million to them so if we get a manager and gets us up and is allowed not to have to sell any of our young players, the future should be rosy. wolves and posh should be forces next yr with swindon, notts county and rotherham and gillingham, along with the blades with the right manager, know it won't go down well but megsons the man.

If we get another ex-Owl, I can see crowds go even further down.

Karl robinson the man oh and by the way, trouble was at lane before danny came.

17 May 2013 14:09:33
What about Gus poyet fo next united manager he`s got promotions before from L1

16 May 2013 22:45:55
Its worrying that all these managers linked to sheff utd have not either had an interview yet or had contact to there current club. Sounds like it is typical crap from the blades board. They will choose the cheapest option possible. So damn frustrating.

Has it dawned on you the manager might be in a job, and local.

16 May 2013 16:44:21
two players what we need to get are pope from port vale and wells from Bradford and then go for a pacy winger.

16 May 2013 15:34:55
I saw sheffield united play at Hillsborough once, doesn't mean the whole team is going.

16 May 2013 15:00:18
What about McClaren for manager heard he`s been sniffing.

15 May 2013 15:17:14
Sufc is not operating to a sustainable level, Mr McCabe Family has continued to support the club for a number of years and the BIG losses cannot continue. That is the clearest message yet that there will be little or no investment in the coming season or for that matter for a long time to come, it's going to be a tough old time being a blade.

It's more to do with the fact that without investment there will be no new players and players will be let go. The article also says that investment is simpler and there are people looking to invest. It has subtle overtones of impending bankruptcy if nothing is done about it.

SensibleOwl

Don't mind who invests just as long as its not Bryan robsons dodgy Chinese mate who was on the undercover documentary about dodgy dealings

What happened to that African investor

Jacob Esan? He invested, but every club is always looking for investors.

SensibleOwl

I know i'm saying it again but the figures don't add up, Money from west ham, two Kyle's, the list goes on and on even Blackman plus we have had biggest crowds in L1 so how come we are that skint that there's to be more leaving with nobody coming in + we can't even seem to attract a decent name for a manager. What the ;''; has happened.

The figures do add up but you have to go back before West Ham to see where the financial troubles started. Getting into the Premiership was a great boost to the profitability, but at no point were you, "Out of the red".

After the pitfall from the Prem, you had players on inflated wages thanks to "Promotion wage increases". After trying to get back into the top league and failing, you lost a lot of money.

And then getting relegated again, you tried to bounce back up, and failed again, meaning you had a large group of players on higher wages that you needed to get rid of, and being already deep into the red, you don't have enough money to replace the players that you are releasing or selling, and profitability is down the toilet as the stadium and wages etc. are creating a massive blackhole for cash. Meaning you need investment to A) Buy players, B) Up profitability, and C) Attract fans back.

SensibleOwl

Well, we are not going to attract fans if we are losing and stuck in the pub league. So reading in between the lines on your post other L1 clubs have less overheads than us because of wages ground etc hence that will allow them to compete easier with us even though we have a bigger gate!

Not at all, the point with an other club is that they don't have over inflated wages. I. E. Championship Wages, because they have dropped and been unnable to climb back up into the Champ on 2 separate tries.

My main point was the excess of wages. But the other point was that with Bramall Lane being particularly large and not being filled there will be less income from it in comparison to a club filling their stadium week in week out.

Just seen on S. U. F. C website that once again we are looking for investers in our club how many years has McCabe and co been looking for investment and found none. This tells me that with no new investment that things are not been done right if it takes as many years as this to find people to put anything in to our club then Mr McCabe and co should take a long hard look at why they can not sell the club to anyone.

Its not that they can't find investment, its because McCabe won't give up his majority share.

Yes that's true he just want to take the cream off the top eg sell any young player he can to make money and then say start all over again to the manager. The thing that I do not understand is just as we start to get near the top of the division as in the last transfer window he starts to sell every time, This is a person who panic's to sell in case he can not make as much money as possible as I said this happens year in and year out.

14 May 2013 16:17:31
McCall saying he is open to offers. Seems the only stumbling block would be the compensation to Motherwell. Personally I wouldn't mind him getting the job however it would be a shame to see morgs go. would like him to stay at the club as would most blades I would imagine

14 May 2013 12:47:50
Wish they'll hurry up and name a new manager. Hate not knowing things!

13 May 2013 19:02:27
Owen coyles top of the list

Would be good if we got coyle. Stu mac would be ok as well as southgate, Robinson, or Parkinson's for me Morgan not ready yet

Only Coyle you will get will, be for the fire! It's the organ as manager you see

Nicky law is ready to snub Rangers for a return back at sheffield united

13 May 2013 00:35:01
It must be difficult trying to choose a new manager. After all it did take Manchester United a full 24hrs to find a new one last week. Come on blades just get one in quick before all the summer bargains are snapped up.

No we all know how McCabe does it first wait as long as possible and then tell the new manager he must sell before we can get anyone in, Wait until the last possible second and then tell him that he has a small amount to spend but by then only two days of the transfer window left so it's nothing or s. t players that's left, Us blades fans have see it over and over again every season.
