FACT : Talks have broken down with Stuart Mccall and the club. Stuart was told he would have to sell before he could bring new players in.

(0)
(7)

How can that be FACT!
There's a good chance he knew he'd have to sell before he could bring anyone in.

(3)
(0)

How many times do I have to say this! if we get rid of the players out of contact we freed up 34k! Some jealous Wendy trying to stir thing up

(4)
(2)

How can anyone know if talks have broken down with FACT. let's keep the faith and hope who ever come's
in can turn us around. there is good players out there on free transfers

The Sun is reporting that if we agree terms with Stuart McCall, he will bring Michael Higdon with him on a free transfer. I believe Higdon to be better than League One but I'd definatly have him at the lane!

IJA

(12)
(2)

What about Nicky Law?

(12)
(0)

Been told the new manager will have to get rid of the high earners at the club before any new signings are brought in

(8)
(4)

Thats the tea lady down the road then

(8)
(3)

THE SUN are you serious

(7)
(6)

Please not another player awaiting a court hearing. Think we have been down this road before.

(3)
(6)

The Sun are as reliable as getting your information by reading tea leaves. And this is from a journalist.

(2)
(6)

Well Higgs, Kits and Robson are on 4 grand and out of contract. Cressy on 6 grand and out contract. Coyne & Jean-Francis on 2 and out of contract. Hariott is on 1 grand and out of contract. Plus Forte gone back to Southampton who is on 11 grand (we was paying 8). Marcus Williams is on 3 grand and has a year left but a small fee will get rid of him. That is 34 Grand saved already

(5)
(3)

Nicky law has left Motherwell on a free transfer

(6)
(5)

He hasn't sign for anyone

(2)
(4)

Nicky Law has already agreed a deal with Rangers apparently

(5)
(3)

8 grand for forte are you mad!

(2)
(4)

No he hasn't that's just Rangers been Rangers. They'll hardly sign anyone

(2)
(2)

Yes forte sign a 11k p/w contract a few season ago. We was 8 p/w

Brian Deane in the short-list of managers

(11)
(12)

21 May 2013 09:20:17
We've officially asked Motherwell for permission to speak with Stuart McCall. Whether they'll allow us to speak to him and whether McCall is interested is another matter.

IJA

(12)
(4)

Apparently the delay in approaching McCall is due to him recently being on holiday with his family. McCall went on Holiday again to Benidorm with his Motherwell squad yesturday as an end of season treat and they won't be back until Thursday. It will be Friday before we get chance to speak to him.

Always makes me laugh that people disagree with facts :L

(1)
(8)

It a shame Martin o"Neil ( ex Sunderland ) doesn't fancy a challenge, a very good lower league manager!

(2)
(4)

O'Neill is like warnock

So in other words fantastic?

Any transfer targets for us does anyone know of?

(1)
(6)

No not until we get a new manager. And that's not going to be anytime soon. Could have to wait for up to a fortnight

(7)
(0)

No one can sign anyone till the first of July anyway

(5)
(0)

Only rumours but possibly, fuller, stead, boden, paterson, emmanuel-thomas all just rumours though don't take my wors for it

19 May 2013 16:01:06
Karl robins to be named blades manager Tuesday at 12:00 o'clock Morgan to be his number two

(14)
(14)

I heard same last night

(9)
(7)

Who is Karl robins?

(8)
(2)

Karl robinsons distant relative

(8)
(0)

Where did you hear that.

(7)
(0)

Utter rubbish! They're still interviewing all week!

(5)
(4)

It is true, an announcement about tomorrows announcement has just been on local radio

(6)
(8)

This rumour is a number two as its wednesday today!

16 May 2013 18:45:00
Paul Dickov to be interviewed for the blades job

(13)
(23)

Another under achiever - got to be Karl Robinson or the guy at Crewe, Crewe have a great record of bringing players through

(12)
(4)

I wunt mind max Clayton from Crewe he's young and looks a good player seen as we are building a squad with young players

(7)
(2)

Im getting really fed up of waiting for the new manager now, especially if it ends up being Morgan as a new start is required! Also getting left behind in the market again especially with quite a good number of free agents who are decent will be about! Steve Davis or Karl Robinson for me! For once get it right MCcabe and try listening to the fans!

(4)
(3)

Just heard Karl Robinson has turned down the opportunity! Morgan looks like a likely option now

(5)
(10)

Think it's going to be either McCall or Southgate

(11)
(11)

Paul Dickov Doncaster next manager

(5)
(5)

Who in there right mind would take the job, chairman who sells all the decent players, wage bill to be reduced and unrealistic expectations from the fans, we have fallen massively and will take years to get back, no quality in the team.

(5)
(2)

No levein will be the next donny manager

(1)
(3)

Wednesday have bid twice for training ground and had a polite no as reply, with not going up and reported £36 million in debt to be payed over 7 yrs will it now be sold, can't keep blaming the chairman, or the manager what about the persons on pitch.

(4)
(3)

Mate the whole structure is to blame

16 May 2013 00:04:42
Saw Maguire boozin with Madine from Wendys in oughtibridge and playin pool. looked cosy, could be on his way to pigs

(4)
(24)

My mate a Wendy fan, I go to the pub with him and no amount of alcohol would send me over to the dark side. Grow pal, people can have mates from another footy club

(9)
(4)

Have a word with yourself pal^^^

or maybe just maybe, and I know this may sound crazy but i'm going to throw it out there, i'm just spitballing here but prehaps it was two footballers socializing?

(7)
(1)

Hope not.

(2)
(3)

Was told maguire not happy with lg1 and feels for his development he moves on, last yr was make or break time.

(3)
(5)

Don't think Maguire's good enough for championship to be honest.

(16)
(5)

Good luck to the lad hope he goes we need the money I don't think he would be a great loss with the right replacement. he isn't quick enough for the championship

(8)
(1)

Replace him with mcfadzean

(0)
(2)

Kyle not quick enough either

(2)
(3)

Who you wanting in defence, Usian Bolt?

(3)
(0)

Morgan wernt exactly lightning yet he did a decent job! Its collins who now needs replacing for someone with a bit more pace!

(1)
(0)

90% of ours and their players mix. The Wendy and Blades players are all known to hang about with each other. Off the pitch the players are just normal lads who hang out in the same circles. They can be mates with whomever they want. All the lads I go to England matches with are pig fans, doesn't make me any less of a Blade.

Karl robbinson to be next sheffield united manager

(29)
(14)

True I bet at 3-1 4-6 now.

(8)
(4)

Hope not

(6)
(10)

Would like it but no chance, McCabe won't be paying any compensation. Just a rumour that's got a bit out of hand.

(6)
(9)

Sturrock or warnock defo

(6)
(11)

I've read on here that sturrock was seen at academy, and checked with my mate who plays for academy (I can;t say who). He said he say a scottish bloke chatting to morgan who looked like sturrock and there was a big black bloke with a goatee who could be sodje.

(3)
(5)

Saw a Scotsman drinking with mguire. ten minutes before the Yeovil game. Was it agent Sturrock?

(0)
(4)

Anyone who thinks its Sturrock are quite frankly stupid.

It would cause a riot!

Sheffield united are set to sign Nicky Clark from scottish 2nd division side queen of the south, regardless of the managerial status at the minute. The 21year old scored 37 times last season and is seen as a top target by the board.

(20)
(6)

Glasgow Rangers have already sign him

(4)
(10)

They've not signed him yet. Just intrestd in him as we are and a few other teams

(4)
(0)

To be fair Scottish seconded division is the third league of Scottish football it's like scoring 37 goals in the conference not get to exited blades will just be another John forte

(4)

14 May 2013 13:41:49
wednesday set to sign porter

(16)
(15)

Wednesday are looking at a few L1 players, I don't believe Porter is one of them, looks like you're stuck with him.

SensibleOwl

(7)
(11)

Paul Sturrock odds shortened to be next united manager. you heard it here first!

(8)
(9)

Paul Sturrock will not be coming to United!

(10)
(4)

No we didn't hear the Paul Sturrock rumour here first, someone posted it down below already. Anyway according to all the betting sites, Karl Robinson is favourite for next Blades manager!

IJA

(9)
(0)

You now sturrock was wind up. He is 200/1 at best

14 May 2013 13:38:58
Sheff utd are set to sign barnsley foward marlon harewood

(8)
(21)

No new players are coming in or signing until a manager has been acquired to fill the vacant post. (Although Morgan is compiling a short list for the next manager, who ever it is, even though it may be himself. )

SensibleOwl

(9)
(6)

Morgan doesn't compile the shortlist, that's the boards job.

(5)
(5)

Assistant managers compile a shortlist, then the board decides who hey can afford and take names off, then add new ones they would like.

Source: Experience

SensibleOwl

(6)
(7)

I'm sorry, but how can you disagree when I have personal experience within this side of the game?

SensibleOwl

(3)
(5)

You could just be making it up, we don't know.

(3)
(0)

You have experience do you?
so I suppose Unsworth is compiling the report then? Get real Morgan will be involved with player recruitment at the moment along with the directors until a new manager is in place

(1)
(0)

I'm sure you guys think football is exactly like "Football Manager". Just to let you know, it really isn't.

Source: Experience

SensibleOwl

(1)
(2)

You're not the only one with experience. Just to let you know Junior football doesn't count.
Each manager has players he will target. scouts tend to scout the players hence the name. maybe the odd time the manager and the assistant will go and watch players as well especially pre season. the assistant tends run the training programmes along with the manager and his coaching staff.

(1)
(2)

And when there is no manager as we were talking about? Then the Assistant or "Caretaker" picks his targets then the board determines whether the players are reasonable, and swap and change. This is then given to the manager when one is picked and chooses targets from it and adds his own. Plus, you seem to think that the manager has the final say in what players should be bought. Where as in real life when there is a manager in the job, he creates a shortlist before wages and transfer budgets are set, which he then sends to the board and they need to determine how much cash will be available for each, and if a player cannot be afforded the board change it to someone they can. Now, I feel as though you have never had experience in any side of the game, I have, for almost 20 years. Thank you, please pick your fights better next time. Much love. x

SensibleOwl

(2)
(1)

I think you've been watching too many Barcelona documentaries unless your "experience" is at Camp Nou?
My dad was an agent for 20 years and had lots of experience with boards and managers and you are only talking about a quarter of the clubs!

(0)
(1)

I have experience at many British and foreign clubs. I have worked as a coach for Hull, Sheffield Wednesday, Brighton, St Etienne, NY Red Bulls, West Ham, and a minor role at Arsenal. I think I do know how the game works.

Secondly agents don't get to know the inner workings of clubs, they aren't allowed in boardroom meetings unless it is about the player in question, that they are they agent of. Much love. X

Kitson (obviously) to leave along with Porter, McDonald, Harriott, Flynn, Wiliams, Higginbotham and Maguire

(13)
(9)

Wage bill still to high need to sell players
and Chris Morgan will stay on as manager next season. going to be a long season.

(4)
(8)

Maguire's going to Wendys I believe. that will hurt! We got Bromby, Geary and Quinn off them all them years back so what goes round comes around I guess

(3)
(12)

Harry maguire is to slow watch the play off games he was poor and is over rate to.

(6)
(2)

United and Wednesday do not do transfer business with one another. Bromby, Geary and Quinn were free transfer, no money swapped between clubs.

IJA

(4)
(0)

United fans get on at the board and the club for constantly selling and as soon asa thinks start to go badly everybody says we need to sell sell sell. Have one opinion and stick to it.

(1)
(1)

Higs, kits and robson are one 4 grand a week at least. That 12 grand there at least and forte is on 11k p/w sure we was paying at least 8

(1)
(4)

Quinn never played for the owls?

(1)
(2)

Alan quinn!

SPOTTED: Paul Sturrock at academy! What's that about? Also saw someone who looked like Akpo Sodje?

(5)
(13)

Pipe down piggy you're not fooling anyone

AshSufcUtb

(10)
(3)

He could be a good manager for us, he has won promotion with St. Johnstone, Plymouth Argyle twice, the Pigs and Swindon Town.

IJA

(4)
(9)

Yes but he also been relegated as many times as he has been promoted

(9)
(1)

No, I've heard from a source at the academy that he was there, as was Akpo Sodje. Sodje did a decent job for Scunthorpe last term. Sturrock's got a good record in this division so why not? Got Plymouth up aswell as Weds

(3)
(6)

Sturrock is one potential candidate (Of 6 I believe) to be in for the vacant manager post.

13 May 2013 15:11:24
Gareth Southgate is supposedly one of the seven shorlisted candidates. Obviously Chris Morgan is another confirmed one. Graham Arnold, Stuart McCall, Karl Robinson, Russell Slade and Chris Wilder are meant to be the other five, however this hasn't been confirmed as of yet. Phil Parkinson and Nigel Pearson have also been linked to the vacant position, but they haven't been shortlisted.

IJA

(12)
(4)

Chris Morgan will get the job he would not cost much on wages to.

(7)
(9)

The shortlisted is Chris Morgan, Chris Morgan, Chris Morgan, Chris Morgan Chris Morgan, Chris Morgan, Chris Morgan
who going to get the job Chris Morgan

(6)

IJA my uncle is friends with Kevin Macbes son and he has reviled two name Russell slade and believe it or not Neil th blade warnock

Stuart McCall to get blades job, having talks with him this week according to tv.

(10)
(9)

All this interview stuff is a mere formality.
I am telling you all now, Stuart McCall HAS GOT the job already --- nailed on certainty.
Get your money on now!
Fab player.
Bigish name.
Proven manager at a good level.
Young.
Can work to a tight budget.
Will inspire the young 'uns.
Enjoyed his time at the Lane.
Knows what makes the club tick.
Knows Mcabe.
Mcabe knows him.
IT ALL ADDS UP!

(2)
(10)

Scottish spl is a good level are you mad

(6)
(0)

McCall won't want the job he just won manager of the year with Motherwell and is in Europe so I'm sure league 1 football doesn't sound appealing to him at this monument in time

10 May 2013 17:01:43
Morgan to be unveiled as permenant manager on Monday.

(10)
(24)

No chance nigel pearson to get the job if leicester fail

(6)
(21)

Noway nigel pearson would take united job.

(16)
(4)

It says in the paper that we would pay for the new mager so I think that is giving us a point to managers what are still in contract like Karl Robinson or Stuart McCall. ?

(11)
(6)

10 May 2013 11:11:44
Matt Derbyshire is set to sign for the blades

(12)
(20)

Who writes these things? we have no money and will be signing cheap lower league players.

(14)
(3)

Heard that as well

(4)
(4)

Don't want him would rather have Febian Brandy or Adam Rooney who I think are both out of contract at the end of the season which would cost a lot less on the wages side, and plus Matt Derbyshire is an has been didn't really do anything at Oldham last year.

(6)
(6)

No signings only sales and organ to stay on as manager bringing on youths. will struggle in this league next year with wolves and Peterborough in front of united in terms of crowds and quality. yes Peterborough will have more as loads will got with ther feet. disarray the gap between the sheffield clubs gets wider and wider

(11)
(4)

Just like all the other guff posted recently, NO players are close to signing for United. The manager is first, and then the new manager will tell the Board who he'd like to sign. Jeez it ain't difficult but some people think we'll sign a dozen freebies and then tell the manager "here you go mate, sort that lot out".

(18)
(0)

Well he was playing at oldham last season and rotherham was trying to get him. So I think he is a lower league player boss!

(5)
(3)

Matt derdyshire is going to rotherham this summer adam rooney is going to peterborough clubs with more money to.

The board have short-listed 7 potential candidates for the vacant manager position, however they're being boring as they'll only confirm Chris Morgan as one of the seven candidates and they refuse to name the other six.

Also Julian Winter is back.

IJA

(10)
(2)

Yes and the first thing he was told to tell us by McCabe, Wait for it was to sell al the good young players because of the same crap we all expected no money large wage bill cut our cloth for this division. Why not be positive and get rid of the dead wood Porter, Kitson etc first and start to build a team around some of the young players but no let's have a fire sale and sell sell sell and give the new manager nothing to work with again.

(27)
(2)

Yes it's true I have just read it on the back of the Sheffield Star paper he also says that the new manager will have to bring on the youngsters more in other words no money to spend also at the same time he must cut the wage bill. United going up this time will just be a dream when will this chairman learn.

(22)
(1)

Apparently we've received 20 applications for the vacant position.

IJA

(4)
(0)

Wow and anyone who is given the job wil have to do it with on money, and if we get some young lad who shows promise the manager will be made to sell him again. So division 2 here we come.

(18)
(2)

Dont be daft, most league one teams don't have any budget, we will still a budget.

(1)
(10)

Michael Appleton will get it and Morgan assistant with unseorth looking after the kids

(3)
(3)

09 May 2013 18:11:17

Marlon pack is been spotted at the lane

(10)
(4)

And what a great scoring record, not

(1)
(2)

First off he is a centre (defensive) midfielder therefore he isn't going to score loads of goals. Secondly his goal socring record is far better than McDoanld and Doyle combined who are goal shy. He has scored seven goals in two consecuitve seasons. Doyle and McDonald will get between 1-3 at the most each per season.

IJA

(5)
(1)

He is awesome at freekicks and can hit a 50, 60 yard pass like gerrard. and tbh having a anchorman would help the team. we might play something different from 4-4-2 for once!

(5)
(1)

Marlon Pack is signing for derby this summer

09 May 2013 11:23:23
Probably a load of tosh! But I recently got chatting to a local wealthy (ish) business man who promotes boxing ;-). He says a McCabe has been speaking to a Nassef Sawiris, Egyption construction billionaire about a possible buyout at BDTBL. who knows? I would believe owt these days? Maybe Fergy in as manager as well?

(7)
(8)

Thought long and hard about it, but decided not to buy a sesson ticket for me and my son for next year; it is not that we did not get promoted but the football has been realy poor for a while now and I no longer look forward to saturday afternoons any more

(7)
(1)

The egyptian story has some elemant of truth, but I heard it was a private talk Mcabe has had enough, ungrateful fans etc.

(4)
(0)

What could we be grateful about?

(4)
(1)

I'm sorry, but if you don't buy a ticket, how do you expect them to up the calibre? If you don't put money in then the club can't grow.

Plus Nassef Sawiris' company has to pay the Egyptian gov't over 7. 1 billion EGP over the next 4 years thanks to not paying their taxes. I'm sure no-one would want a man like that to run their club.

Sheffield United are one of a number of clubs (including MK Dons, Coventry City and Dony Rovers) interested in soon to be free agent Marlon Pack after he rejected a new contract with Cheltenham Town.

IJA

(13)
(0)

Surely we will wait until we appoint a new manager before buying and selling players

(9)
(0)

He is a free agent, we won't be buying him. He will be a freebie. Our scouts have been monitoring him and he is an amazing league two player. Any league one club would be happy to sign him on a freebie.

IJA

(4)
(0)

Presumably he wants paying though? In which case any new manager isn't going to be happy about his budget being tied up in signings he didn't sanction. Please get a grip. btw Cresswell's contract has already been renegotiated and he has an extended deal as player coach at Bramall Lane with 2 further seasons left to run. Do keep up!

(1)
(0)

Dony rovers will sign him high level of football
